OVERVIEW

Charles Perry of EPRI-PEAC, chair of 1159.1, opened the Winter meeting of the 1159.1 Task Force on January 27, 2003 at 10:10 in the Capri 115 Room of the Riviera Conference Center in Las Vegas, NV. 36 members were present and approved the minutes from the Summer 2002 meeting. The Draft 1.2 was previously posted on the web site. It combines the sag (dip) measurement section for IEC 1000-4-30 with the characterizations of 1159.2 in the Annex.

The majority of the meeting was spent on reviewing the document. Those changes are summarized as:

• Harmonics and transients will be briefly mentioned in the Purpose with references to applicable IEC and UIE for measurement techniques that will be included in subsequent revisions.
• Add Missing voltage methods for determining duration of sags experienced on the DC bus voltage of ASDs and for contactors.
• Clarified minimum time (duration) resolution using half-cycle RMS step method to +/- ½ cycle.
• Add max-avg deviation method and IEC negative/positive sequence component calculation for voltage unbalance.
• Waveform pictures from 1159.2 will be added to annex.

The goal is to begin detailed review (word-smithing) at the Summer meeting, which will be in Toronto in July 2003. Meeting was adjourned at 11:45.

ACTION ITEMS from previous meeting

· RPBingham to revise documentation as per above, and distribute by March 1.

· Randy Collins to provide wording for contactor concerns.

· Committee to provide comments by April 1 to be included in next revision for July meeting.

· Larry Morgan to provide waveforms from 1159.2 files.

· RPBingham to produce minutes from meeting.
