IEEE P1159.1 Project Status / Next Meeting
Project Status
- The PAR was approved in March 1997.
- Numerous meetings have taken place with different discussion points
presented at each.
- The emphasis thus far has been on how the basic specification can ensure
the repetitively of the power quality events.
- Multiple drafts
have been posted to this web site.
- A draft of IEC 61000-4-30, Testing and Measurement Techniques – Power
Quality Methods, has been distributed to task force members by email. This
document presents the IEC's approach to both measuring and analyzing power
quality measurements.
- In January 2001, the task force decided to combine with the IEEE P1159.2 Task Force in
order to create one standard for both measuring and analyzing power quality
measurements.
- The P1159.1 Task Force and P1159.2 Task Force members are to develop to
new P1159.x document.

The IEEE P1159.1 Task Force will meet next at the IEEE/PES Spring 2004
meeting in Denver, CO, USA. The meeting will be on Monday immediately
following the 1159 meeting.
