OVERVIEW
Larry Morgan of Duke Power convened the P1159.2 Task Force meeting on Monday, July 13, 1998, at 14:15 in the Exhibit Hall D of the Sheraton Hotel in San Diego, CA. The attendance list was signed by 47 members and guests. Following approval of the minutes of the Winter meeting which were posted on the www site on March 5, discussion moved to the draft, which L. Morgan displayed for an overview of the various sections. Very few comments have been received and more are being actively solicited. The new www site address is http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/1159/2/index.htm.
DISCUSSION
Several action items from the winter meeting are still outstanding, and are noted below.
The discussion focused on primary the informative sections, which are the annex sections. Two PEAC publications (PQTN Brief 44 Effects of Point on Wave and PQTN 45 Effects of Phase Shift on Low Voltage Tolerance of Industrial Processes were shown. An opinion survey of when the window opens and when it closes to start characterizing a sag produced no consensus. "Depends", "Depends on the Load Equipment", "Nominal-to-nominal", and a "Matrix approach" each had 20% of the vote, with the remaining 20% scatter among fixed cycle counts and other approaches. It was pointed out that the drive manufacturers relate it to +/-10% of nominal of the DC link voltage. There are presently four load models proposed in the document, each with its own nominal requirement. IEC 61800-1 or -2 Table B.3 has its definition of a nominal waveform.
The membership list was derived from the list circulated in 1159, which was circulated for attendance and attendee's information updates. The next meeting will be in New York City, at a to-be-announced date and time during the February meeting week.
