The IEEE P1363 Study Group for Future Public-Key Cryptography Standards

The field of public-key cryptography is evolving quickly. For this reason, the IEEE P1363 project is open to new kinds of public-key methods. This includes new uses of the cryptography, as well as new families of algorithms (beyond the traditional IF, DL, and EC families).

The IEEE P1363 Study Group for Future Public-Key Cryptography Standards was tasked with determining what new kinds of public-key algorithms are appropriate for standardization. The Study Group proposed and the IEEE has approved of work in two areas:
