Study Group for Future Public-Key Cryptography Standards Wednesday, March 15, 2000 Technische Universitaet Berlin Fachbereich Mathematik MEETING SUMMARY (unapproved) * Reviewed purpose of group (to study potential new standards projects in public-key cryptography) and criteria for IEEE standards projects * Discussed potential future projects and submissions: - Public-Key Validation (Don Johnson) - New Families (Dan Lieman) - Advanced Cryptographic Engine (Victor Shoup) - Password-based Authenticated Key Exchange (David Jablon) * Discussed possible "registry" of public-key algorithms * Agreed to draft three Project Authorization Requests for next meeting: password-based authenticated key exchange (Jablon), new families (Lieman), registry (Kaliski); other PARs welcome as well. * Next meeting will be in conjuction with IEEE P1363 June meeting. (Study group is active from March 15-September 15, 2000.)
