Template for Drafts (PC ONLY)
IEEE-SA has issued a revised MS Word Template for Drafts (PC only) at the
following URL:
http://standards.ieee.org/resources/development/writing/writinginfo.html
This template should be used for creating new drafts in MS Word. The
updated template incorporates improvements developed over three years of
research and testing among staff and Working Group volunteers.
Documentation for the new template has also been updated with additional
screen-shots and more comprehensive FAQs. Procedures on creating quality
PDFs for balloting (with embedded fonts, bookmarks, and linked
cross-references) as well as a guide on how to create a draft using
multiple authoring are also provided. For optimal and easiest use of the
template it is important that all users carefully read this detailed
documentation.
Staff would like to thank all those volunteers who have used the template
and provided valuable feedback. Since the inception of the template program
in 2005, the input and feedback of volunteers has been¾and remains¾
invaluable.
The MS Word Template for Drafts will be periodically updated as style
requirements outlined in the IEEE-SA Style Manual change and evolve. For
drafts created in Framemaker please use the Framemaker templates provided
at the same URL.
Thank you,
Don Messina
