The alternative is a flow-chart approach. Feels flow-chart will need to be done. Ernie - there is a flow-chart approach and a state-machine approach. State-machine - difference between a procedural versus object-oriented. Conclusion: variables will be used both for pre-conditioning as well as results representation (which may be "tested" later - resulting in a change to the flow). Multi-site: We shouldn't do anything that will prevent an ATE vendor from implementing a multi-site solution. Status-messages (to operator): Ernie: Is this micro-managing? Gregg: We use it to allow operators to enter the test temperature, or install diagnostic loadboard (for example). Francisco: Isn't this a capbility we should allow. Don: A relatively small amount of information directly related to the execution of the test program. Test Identification: Don: Used for datalogging and debugging (breakpoints and looping). Ernie: A unique ID for a particular test. Ernie: This ID might also be used as its variable (results) name. Binning: Don: Hardware bins. Software bins (name and number). Terminal and non-terminal. Used for collecting data for summary. Ernie: N-dimensional array: dimension 1 might be speeds (10MHz, 20MHz), dimension 2 might be Vcc tolerance (5%, 10%), 3rd dimension might be functionality (whether on-board memory works or not). Gregg: Softbins know which hardbins they map to. Gregg: Likes a rule-based chaining approach to link tests into binning. -- ============================================== Don Organ (408) 383-2518 don_organ@ltx.com LTX Corp. 3930 N.
