Action Items:
Dave - got in touch with Greg Maston regarding the specs/selector/category portion of the STIL 1999 specification, regarding the longevity (persistence) of the Meas data. There is presently (in the STIL 1999 spec) to put information into the Meas and to reference it from elsewhere. Ernie: - but what if you refer to a measurement that hasn't been made yet? Jim: - does the syntax for an equation constrain it to be numerical only? or can it have other "types" such as text strings or something that means "not a number"? (the consensus is "not yet").
Some general discussion regarding the mechanics of .Meas in the STIL 1999 spec.
From our perspective (STIL.4), we may have the following issues to resolve: a) what if there is a reference to a .Meas - before a value is assigned into the .Meas?, b) what if the selector identifies an undefined (empty) expression?, c) how to get a measured value into the .Meas? d) what if a .Meas is used by the next serial number device for which it is not applicable (this is one of a few different "persistence" issues).
Possible resolutions: 1) a selector block which does not specify all of the specs in use then a) user can refer to the desired expression explicitly, (such as var.Min) b) any undefined expressions take the value from an adjacent expression (i.e. if Min is specified, but Typ isn't, then Typ would gets its value from Min) (we think this may a problem if Min & Max are specified, but not Typ), c) require this to be a run-time error (when the undefined expression is referenced).
Discussed various persistency issues: a) until end of test, b) until end of device, c) until end of lot, d) until the program is unloaded, e) even beyond the execution of this program.

(we didn't get to item #2 on the agenda).
