-----------------------------------------
Dave Dowding will be
unavailable for next week's call.
How are we
progressing?
Dave: Pleased with
progress - thanks to all. But, have we got too hung up on the defaults stuff
(layering, etc.). In any case, would like to be ready by the end of this year
with a proposal draft to the STIL extensions working groups, and then have a
draft for formal ballot by March of 2004.
Jim: We may have
dove too deep into the defaults - this could be added in
later.
Ernie: It is
sometimes hard to see the intent from the use-case. A lot of times, I need to
understand the intent to know what trade-offs to consider. I think we are in the
ball-park of being able to have something by the end of the year. It just
depends on how much time people have to participate.
Don: Standards are
hard to schedule, but your time-frame seems reasonable. I think the use-cases
will help drive our effort, but I don't think we have reached critical mass yet.
I think we could use a published agenda to help drive the
effort.
