Tom - To generate an
email regarding parallel test
Ernie: reviewing the
1450.4 document. My definitions are very different.
Jim O'Reilly: don't
take the earlier document as being "cast in concrete", it provides a good
starting point (but it is only a starting point).
Tom: we could
capture our ideas into a "standard document" (a working draft) and keep that
current.
Ernie: we could
extend that to capture even issues that aren't resolved.
Don: we can maintain
2 different documents - a working draft and a proposals
Jim Mosley: would
like a hierarchy categorization of the different concepts as we put together the
document (the working draft)
Daniel Fan: for
example, separate flow from bin, from parallel test (multisite
testing)
Dave: also for the
TestMethod interface (1450.5). We'd like to get the 1450.5 effort
started.
Ernie: a question
about the scope - some initial proposals include characterization. That may be
beyond our scope - since it is not part of a test program interchange. Having
characterization in our scope may delay our other work.
Dave: however, we do
need to bump into this to determine where the interface is. Also, some people
may require special modes in their flow to support characterization, but most
integrate well with the rest of the test program (and requires some support from
the test methodology).
Ernie: exploring is
Ok. We can have a structure that doesn't impede characterization, but trying to
fully support characterization will require a lot of work.
Regarding the emails
earlier this week.
Jim O'Reilly: I
didn't understand the differences between a test, a test block and a test
flownode.
