Meeting of the IEEE 1532 Work Group
May 7, 2001, at Xilinx, San Jose, CA
Discussion: Invitation to IEEE-SA members to Participate in Ballot Status
- Open til May 18 2001
- 39 participates so far
- All Electronic ballot via web and email
Discussion: Status of Boards and Software
Software – Neil
- Xilinx sent out non-concurrent version.
- Concurrent version is being tested at Xilinx now.
- Sequentially 50sec – Concurrent 40sec – Not fully optimized yet. – Focus has been on getting working.
- Anticipate release on May 15th
Demo Board
- Shipped originally without Cypress part
- Cypress part now available
- 20 sent out
- approximately 8 available
- Discussion: Who should get remainder? Can second board be obtained?
- Xilinx wiring problem – Neil email – Jumper block
- Cypress Xilinx and Latice – Action item to provide ISC and SVF for verification. Send to Dave Bonnett to posted on IEEE working group website.
- Send to Jason Baumbach at Cypress instead of Jack.
Thanks to Altera for preparing the demo board and to Xilinx for preparing the demo software.
Discussion: New Issues
- Blank UserCode – No Change
- BSDL ISC TCK Frequency – No Change
- Entity List in Data File
Indicates: That the Data file can be used with a specified list of entities( really, device packages)
Reason: Assist in design re-targeting and Technology migration but datafile remains the same
Motion: To allow multiple entity names in the datafile ( comma saparated list )
Made: Mark Moyer
Seconded: Dave Bonnet
Vote: 7-0-0
Discussion: Wim Driessen Issues
Existing items:
- Add decision repeat capability – No change – We value determinism. Could be done under the proprietary flag. Fixed beat rate? Alcatel prefers to do adaptive on erase. Altera specs theoretical maximum erasure time. Cisco would move parts to another line if the erase times are slower. This is complicated. Would delay the standard. There are other scenarios for dealing with this. Does this go beyond erase. This is not a show stopper. The hardware part of the spec demands deterministic.
Consensus: Table for later date.
Break: 11AM
Discussion: Latest Spec Change Review
- P94 Keyword list
- P95 ISC fixed system pins
- P100 ISC_Flow specification
- P101-103 Assorted rules
- P103-106 ISC_Flow description
- P106-108 Data Input & Output Formatting
- P108-111 Data Output Source Mapping and CRC Enable
- P119 proc_preload
Recommendation -
- Always synchronize at enable and disable even when dealing with devices sequentially or when devices have proprietary tag associatd with their actions.
- All devices should be reach enable together and reach disable together.
Ken captured update edits from the discussion.
Discussion: Continue Wim’s issues
Unprocessed Flag: How do you know what to do? What application do you call?
Lunch: 12PM
Discussion: Continue Wim’s issues
- Pg127 Rule(h) - Should be specify that at least one data block
- Pg127 Rule(f) - Requires at least 1 data block
- Pg127 Syntax - Definition requires it
Pg121 line 33 – Proprietary
Change wording to indicate that other ISC instructions should not be executed for ISC enabled devices except ISC_NOOP.
Pg 124 line – Length of Warnings?
Ken captured edits.
Discussion: - proceeding to ballot
Ken suggests one more review of the edits made as a result of this meeting done by the working group via email.
Discussion: - Schedule
