Minutes

   IEEE P1532 Working Group
   Minutes of meeting at Xilinx
   September 9-10, 1999

From 9-8-99

Motion: minutes approved
Motion: Ken Parker
Second: Dave Bonnett
Carried 5-0-0

Notes for the editor (way late ?)

  1. Replace the idea of instruction activation with the idea of instruction execute.
  2. Note in 5.1.11 that it is possible to transition the 1149.1 state machine in a manner that will cause the algorithm to fail.
  3. Pg. 50 Rule(h) Note that any entry into the RTI state will cause an instruction to execute.
  4. 3.1.9 Remove the reference to Update-IR

Howard addressed the idea of Architecture_shift. After much discussion a consensus was reached that the behavior described by Howard was important. It was also decided that it would be more beneficial to include this information in the ISC_CONFIG register rather than adding one or more new instructions.

Motion: ISC_CONFIG

Array select functionality be incorporated into bits of the ISC_CONFIG register associated with ISC_Enable

Motion: Alan
Second: Kurt
Carried: 5-2-0

More Stuff for Ken:

ISC_READ_INFO is a register of n bits of manufacturer specific information which is not user programmable and not for use by a tool and should be printed as hex if displayed.5.2.c update to include non-volatile, volatile and combination

Wednesday 9-9-99

Motion: ISC_Setup instruction

Add ISC_Setup instruction that targets the ISC_CONFIG register. (This instruction can be used to select verify levels or address array segments or other control functions as determined by the designer). It is conceivable that ISC_SETUP be an alias of ISC_ENABLE.

Note: ISC_ARCH_SHIFT is no longer valid.

Motion: Ted
Second: Kurt
Carried 5-2-1

Motion: To RTI or not to RTI

Ken will add a section to chapter 6 which specifies requirements for 1532 masters.

Motion: Alan
Second: Brad
Carries 8-0

More for Ken (Again)

Ken will remove 8.3 and 10 in preparation for a hardware only ballot ready draft.

Motion:

To complete edits outlined in this meeting, strip out 8-3 and 10, then pending working group approval begin IEEE balloting process by 9-28-99

Motion: Ken
Second: Dave
Carried: 7-0-1

Next meeting will be held at ASSET InterTech in Dallas on November 8 and 9th.

Note from the Secretary ---

Sorry for the delay in providing and briefness of the minutes…My apologies.
