Motion on Key Strengths

Title: Message
I suggested at the last meeting we have language a motion on key strengths submitted by mail for review. Here it is. It has been discussed with Jim Hughes, so I imagine he will propose and I will second or some such.

Motion:

To be compliant with this standard, an implementation MUST support AES as defined in NIST standard defined in FIPS-197.

The relevant text from this document is reproduced below for clarity:

"An implementation of the AES algorithm shall support at least one of the three key lengths specified in Sec. 5: 128, 192, or 256 bits (i.e., Nk = 4, 6, or 8, respectively). Implementations may optionally support two or three key lengths"

Thus, this motion implies a compliant implementation MUST support at least one of the 3 key lengths 128, 192, 256.
