Title: Standard for Ubiquitous Green Community Control Network Protocol

Scope: The standard identifies gateways for field-bus networks, data storages for archiving and developing data sharing platform, and application units such as for providing user interfaces of analysis and knowing the environmental information to be important system components for developing digital communities: i.e., building-scale and city-wide ubiquitous facility networking infrastructure. The standard defines a data exchange protocol that generalizes and interconnects these components (gateways, storages, application units) over the Internet Protocol version 4/version 6-based (IPv4/v6) networks. This opens the application interface to handle the statuses of multi-vendor facilities on a generalized digital infrastructure. The standard assumes distributed operation of the infrastructure by multiple service providers and integrators, and defines a component management protocol that autonomously interoperates such distributed infrastructure. Security requirements are taken into consideration in this standard to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.

Purpose: The standard develops green communities whose energy-usage are well-managed and highly-efficient by allowing the interconnection of facilities of multiple buildings including small and medium-sized on different converged networks, data sharing platforms and application units. The products based on the standard implement the functions of sensing, archiving, sharing and presenting of ubiquitous information such as power usage and generation, environmental status and signals, human behaviour, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) working status, lighting systems, weather, warnings, analyzed data, forecasted data, and so on. With the capability of interoperable integrating these system components, the standard aims to provide and share rich data platform including the cooperation with control-oriented systems.

Need for the Project: At present, with the urbanization accelerated in the developing countries and the enlarging architecture scope, a standard for digitalizing larger community infrastructure is needed. For government administration departments, the public infrastructure facilities in according area should be under centralization of management; For public service departments, remote services could help to improve service quality, working efficiency; For property management department, Ubiquitous Green Community Control Network (UGCCNet) could help to realize unified management in the scope of city, community and building groups; For individual users, personal space could be managed better through remote and smart applications; For operators, revenue could be grasped though the remote interconnecting platform based on the existing network. For equipment vendors, a unified standard could do favor for product integration and cost reduction.
