CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
Workshop on Applications for Powerline Communications
2-3 October 2008, Thessaloniki, Greece

You are cordially invited to present ongoing work on existing
applications, standardization activities, hardware prototypes and
devices, software tools, measurement results, field tests for Power
Line Communications. In the workshop ample space will be reserved for
discussions: each presentation (20 min) is followed by a 15 min
discussion.
Two invited talks by internationally renowned speakers and four
technical sessions will cover the current challenges and future trends
on PLC topics. Presentations will not be copyrighted; therefore
further publications are not infringed.
Topics:
Contributions may cover narrowband or broadband PLC techniques as well
as access networks, backbone or in home applications. Submissions
should address one of the following issues:
- Performance measurements
- Field trials and experimental deployment
- Services on PLC systems (AMR, grid management, home automation...)
- Co-existence and interoperability mechanisms
- Standardization activities
- Hybrid network applications (wireless + PLC, satellite + PLC)
- Automotive & vehicular applications
- LV/MV/HV grid applications
Timetable:
- Extended abstract (2 A4 pages, PDF): 15 August 2008
- Notification of acceptance: 1 September 2008
- Workshop: 2-3 October 2008
Organization:
The workshop will be held at the premises of the Aristotle University
of Thessaloniki. Exhibition or Demos are very welcome in parallel to
the workshop activities.
The workshop fee will be 85 EUR.
