Call for Candidates - IEEE-SA Coprporate Advisory Group (CAG)

Dear Colleague:

The Nominations and Appointments Committee (N&A) of the IEEE-SA Board of Governors (BOG) is soliciting the names of candidates to serve on the IEEE-SA Corporate Advisory Group (CAG) for 2010-2011.  

The N&A is also soliciting the names of those individuals who would like to be considered for the position of CAG Chair for 2010-2011.  The CAG Chair also serves a s a member of the IEEE-SA BOG for his or her term.

CAG Responsibilities:
-        Facilitating industry feedback on present and proposed methods and tools provided for development of standards and related products
-        Representing corporate member insight and guidance on needs, interest, vision, products, and services provided to the IEEE-SA
-        Provides sponsorship and sponsorship liaison for corporate projects
-        Helps establish a "corporate standards developing environment"
-        Drives the initiation of entity standards projects and the entity balloting process
-        Promotes corporate representation and membership
-        Promotes a critical mass in key technology sectors

Candidates must be interested in managing the development of industry standards and must hold strategic positions at corporations that are corporate members of the IEEE-SA

THE DEADLINE TO RESPOND IS 25 May 2009.

The names of candidates will be forwarded to the N&A Committee for their review.  The slate for election is approved by the SA-BOG.  

Election by the IEEE-SA corporate members will be held in August-September 2009.  Two member-at-large positions on the IEEE-SA will be determined.  The IEEE-SA BOG will elect the CAG Chair in June 2009.

Rules for CAG membership:

The proposed time commitment is four meetings in 2010.  The March location has been determined.

8-12 March - India
18-19 May
17-18 August
30 November - 1 December

The proposed time commitment for 2010 is four meetings.

There is also the possibility of teleconferences to be held as needed.

1.  Attendance is expected at all meetings.

2.  This is a non-funded position.  Members are expected to fund their own travel.

3.  Members must have an email address, web access, and a laptop computer to bring to the meeting.  IEEE-SA meetings use wireless technology.
