WSPLC 09: THIRD WORKSHOP on POWER LINE COMMUNICATIONS

Technically sponsored by: IEEE Italy Section, and the Italian National Telecommunications and Information Theory Group GTTI.
Supported by: IEEE Technical Committee on PLC (TC-PLC) and IEEE ISPLC Steering Committee.

Extended abstract submission (up to 2 pages): July 10, 2009.
Acceptance decision: July 31, 2009.
Final short paper submission (up to 3 pages): September 14, 2009.

WSPLC 09 will be held in Udine - Italy on October 1-2, 2009. WSPLC will bring together academia and industry professionals as well as students and researchers to present and discuss ongoing work on existing and future PLC systems, PLC applications, standardization activities with emphasis, but not limited, to:

· signal processing, coding, and modulation
· channel modeling
· measurement results
· hardware implementations
· narrow band, broad band and ultra wide band applications
· indoor, outdoor, and in-vehicle PLC systems
· energy efficient protocols
· smart grids

Contributions from related fields, as for instance wireless, that explain analogies/differences with PLC and stimulate cross-fertilization, are also welcome.

First Submission
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit an extended abstract up to two pages in PDF format that should include all information necessary to allow
the reviewers to assess the contribution. All submitted contributions will be peer reviewed for their quality, correctness, originality and relevance.
The deadline for the abstract submission is July 10, 2009.

Abstract submissions have to be sent via e-mail to the chair, Prof. Andrea M. Tonello, e-mail:
tonello@xxxxxxxx. The e-mail must include in the subject
line the text: Abstract submission to WSPLC 2009. The e-mail must also include the contact author information.

The accepted short papers will not be copyrighted which will allow further publication elsewhere with the appropriate extension.
The short papers will be freely downloadable from the workshop web site to allow high dissemination of the research results. They will also be included
in the archive of publications on Power Line Communications and related issues

The workshop will include a tutorial about in-home PLC given by participants to the EU FP7 OMEGA Project on Gigabit Home Networks.
