Draft 1.1.6.2

Of my Aug 16 comments referring to pages before p26 (where we started the
Aug 17 review), one (about 5.2, p 17) has been dealt with already.

The fix to 7.12.2 is incomplete -- the original paragraph is still there
(even though it also appears in strike-out after the replacement), and
the phrase "all decimal integers" snuck back in -- I had corrected it to
"all decimal numbers" (of the form M * 10**N). When N is negative and
exceeds the number of digits in M, this is not an integer -- indeed, it
has to be able to represent all values from 10**emin to 10**emax (and a
bit more). The rephrasing for the bounds for N is ok.

Page 44, 8.1, after the fix "and signals" should become "and signal" since
the subject is now plural ("Operations are...").

Page 50, B.1 2nd para, new text. I really don't like "conversion to a
variable". Aren't we just talking about "assignment to a variable"?

I note that we stopped before appendix E, so my comments of early Aug 17
for pages 58/59 still apply.

Michel.
