NaNs for storage formats?
All,
Just checking on an item.
Are we assuming that infinities and NaNs are
supported for the storage as well as basic formats?
The reason that I ask is that this takes some of
the (very limited) coding space and thus I would
not be surprized to see these "squeezed out" in
existing graphics routines.
A similar question applies to subnormals: are they
supported as one would think, based on the reading
of our standard?
I have no great knowledge or a strong preference,
but thought it would be good to check. If we are
intentionally different from common practice, a
warning might be appropriate.
Thoughts?
