754 working group and MSC members:
This is a reminder that the ballot pool invitation for the re ballot
of the P754 draft closes in 2 days at 11:59pm EDT on the 28th of
September. I have 50 names on the list currently.
This draft has changed due to the large number, over 750, filed in the
three ballots. It has been reorganized and the PAR issues of
Reproducibility and Extendability have been included. There have been
many small and larger errors fixed as a result of the comments. This
work has taken almost a year of 2 meetings a week for the BRC. We
have from time to time sought input from other member of the
community. I believe the result reflects the skill of the ballot
participants in the thorough examination they have given the drafts
and the skill of the technical members of the BRC.
We now the balloting body to re-examine the current draft with the
same fine tooth comb previously applied.
The ballot was passing with an 85% approval. The reason for the re
ballot is the significant changes in organization and the large number
of small changes that makes it not possible to create a change bar
version as it would be almost all change bar.
Please sign up if you can take the time to conscientiously review the
draft and return the ballot in the short re-ballot timing. Because of
the increased references and requirements for software languages, we
also invite language specialist to review the draft. Go to the
myBallot page http://standards.ieee.org/stdsdev/index.html and go to
myBallot.
Respectfully,
Bob Davis
