Re: Current Working draft 1.6 just starting Recirculation
As before I have put my comments online for the benefit of anybody interested:
http://754r.ucbtest.org/msc-ballots/ballot5.html
contains an overview of what's new in 754R vs 754, my vote for approval,
and specific technical and editorial comments for draft 1.6.0. Some of them
came via other reviewers. The specific comments will be submitted formally
with my
vote on the IEEE-SA website later in the ballot period. Points of
controversy
could be discussed on this mailing list.
Members of the balloting body may submit formal comments with their ballots on
the IEEE-SA website.
Non-members of the balloting body may
submit "rogue" formal comments directly to Dan Zuras or Bob Davis.
It's very helpful to the ballot review committee when formal comments can be
brief and
to only one point per comment.
It is much easier to deal with several short orthogonal comments than one
wide-ranging one.
Wide-ranging comments often elicit agreement in part and disagreement in part,
which
is difficult to express succinctly within the automated comment-tracking
framework.
