MSC Member and Awardees, The October 13, 2008 MSC Meeting and Award Banquet will be held at the Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos CA. Please see www.TollHouseHotel.com for directions and room information if needed. Current, and former, active and voting members of the MSC and the Awardee's will be the guest of the MSC for this meeting. Other guests will please have cash or check for $50 to help defray the expense of the dinner. RSVP is required by COB Sept 29 2008 to me at bob@xxxxxxxx or bob.davis@xxxxxxx. This is a celebration of the success of recent standards efforts under the MSC. Following the Award Presentations, will be the election of officers, and a short business meeting to consider a new working group and a vote to withdraw 3 additional projects, P1953, P1953.1 and P1953.2, all in the Bioinformatics standards area. The MSC previously approved the withdrawal of P1796, P1896. Critical to the future of the MSC is the election of officers to carry on the MSC activities. Please forward any candidates to me for inclusion on the ballot. If no suitable candidates are available for the election of officers, I will introduce a last motion to terminate the Microprocessor Standards Committee following this meeting and pass the sponsorship of all current working standards to the IEEE Computer Society Standards Activities Board.
