Objective

To define standardized modifications to both the 802.11 physical layers (PHY) and the 802.11 Medium Access Control Layer (MAC) to enable operation in the 60 GHz frequency band (typically 57-66 GHz) capable of very high throughput.

The VHT Study Group met two times at the beginning the week, Monday January 19, 2009, 13:30 – 15:30 and Tues January 20, 2009, 16:00 – 18:00.  These were the last two VHTSG meeting.  Subsequently, Task Group AD officially began with two time slots during the latter part of the week, Wednesday, January 21, 2009, 16:00 – 18:00 (joint with TGac) and Thursday, January 22, 13:30 – 15:30.
