[STDS-802-11-REG] Thursday's Meeting

All:

I have received no submissions for this meeting, so I am canceling today’s call.

Rich

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a chance to enjoy the holidays. The new year brings new challenges and opportunities, along with all the old challenges:

-          FCC still has not ruled on Globalstar

-          Sharing with LAA-LTE, and in the US, sharing with LTE-U

-          The new Radio Equipment Directive revision of standards is preparing to enter the ENAP (European Norm Approval Process) with receiver requirements as the focal point

-          WRC-15 has resulted in a new review period for 5 GHz band sharing, new DFS requirements, efforts by the satellite services to limit RLANs in their band

-          New bands above 24 GHz

-          IEEE 802 EC looking at making changes in the way it does regulatory

The 802.11/15 has weekly meetings scheduled, and needs to find a new Chair (if the group will continue after the March 802 EC meeting). As interim Chair, I look to the members to provide submissions for the call. If none are received by EOB Tuesday, I will cancel the meeting.

Thanks.
