First International Workshop on:
Services & Applications in the Wireless Public Infrastructure
24-27 July 2001, Evry (Paris) France
Conference Scope and Introduction:
Today, the overwhelming progress in wireless technology offers a large range
of data access. Managing this diversity of technologies, improving its
interoperability and performance are still challenging tasks. AAA aspects
such as accounting for multiple media access and QoS profiling is also a
domain seeking for more contributions. Security and content protection are
needed to help the development of new services. Adaptable applications for
variable bandwidth and variable costs will open
new horizons for universal communications.
This first workshop tries to seek presentations from both academic and
industrial worlds, in these fields, to try to narrow the gap between data
and telecommunications infrastructures to better serve end-users and to
build an idea on the convergence of communications.
Topics:
· Media Distribution over wireless networks
· New data services for the public wireless network
· Audio-visual applications for home and business
· Hand-over procedures between land and wireless data
· Wireless local loop and hand-over with cellular networks
· QoS profiling and pricing
· Security and AAA aspects
· Nomadic Services, Interface Management
· Mobile Adhoc Networks, Multihop Wireless
· Data protocols improvement for wireless considerations
· Specific service development, validation and test
Submissions:
The Program Committee is seeking short papers (6 pages max) and panel
presentations (in English). Please send three copies of your work to Hossam
