A new interest group has been set up within IEEE 802.15 to focus on a new class of applications such as the smart electrical utility grid. This class of applications has been referred to as Neighborhood Area Networks (NAN). At next week's meeting in Jacksonville, IEEE 802.15 will conduct two NAN interest group meetings on Monday, 12 May with the first meeting at 13:30 (PM1) and the second at 16:00 (PM2). Ed Callaway will chair these two meetings.
