[802.15-GENERAL-LIST] *** Reminder - IEEE 802.15 TG4g Call for Preliminary Proposals ***

Just a reminder that March 1 deadline is almost upon us. If you wish to present a preliminary proposal to TG4g in Vancouver, please submit it to the 802.15 document server and send an email to the TG4g reflector, the TG4g secretary and me, as described below:

This email is to inform you that the IEEE 802.15 Task Group 4g has issued a Call for Proposals (CFP) on the 22 January 2009 as described in document 15-09-0077-00-004g-call-for-proposals.doc.

The IEEE 802.15 Task Group 4g is chartered to define an amendment to the
existing standard 802.15.4-2006. This amendment addresses principally outdoor Low Data Rate Wireless Smart Metering Utility Network requirements. It defines an alternate PHY and only those MAC modifications needed to support its implementation.

*PRELIMINARY PROPOSALS: Due March 1, 2009*

Proposers are strongly encouraged to provide a preliminary version of
their proposal(s) as soon as possible but no later than by March 1, 2009
and strongly encouraged to present the proposal(s) at the March 2009
session to the membership of TG4g, to share the breadth of their
proposals and the opportunity for early proposal mergers. It also allows
the task group to review the requirements and parameter documents for
correctness.

Proposers should ensure that their preliminary proposals are submitted
to the IEEE 802.15 document server and send notification to the TG4g
Chair, Phil Beecher (pbeecher@xxxxxxxx), TG4g secretary, Jana Van
Greunen (jvangrue@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) and TG4g reflector
(stds-802-15-4g@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).

The IEEE 802.15 March Session will be held during the week of 8-13 March
2009 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Vancouver, BC, Canada

*FINAL PROPOSALS: Due May 2, 2009*

Proposals are solicited for an amendment to the Standard IEEE
802.15.4-2006, compliant with the PAR

and 5 Criteria (15-08-0706-02-0nan-wnan-5c) for TG4g. Proposers are
required to provide their proposal(s) by May 2, 2009, and to present the
proposal(s) at the May 2009 meeting to the membership of TG4g.

Please submit your proposals to the IEEE 802.15 document server and send
notification to the TG4g Chair, Phil Beecher (pbeecher@xxxxxxxx),  TG4g
Secretary, Jana Van Greunen (jvangrue@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) and TG4g
email reflector stds-802-15-4g@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx by May 2, 2009, which is prior to the May 2009 IEEE 802.15 Session, in order to be heard at that Session.

The IEEE 802.15 May Session will be held during the week of May 10-15
2009, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, Canada

No proposals will be accepted after May 2, 2009, 23:59 UTC.
