[802.15-GENERAL-LIST] San Francisco IEEE 802 plenary meeting - potential BART strike
--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group
Reflector ---
A note from a local resident...
BART
(http://www.bart.gov/)
is generally the easiest way to get downtown
from the San Francisco or Oakland airports, especially given that
the
Hyatt Regency Embarcadero is essentially on top of the Embarcadero
BART
station.
However, BART's contract with its unions expires on July 1.
Negotiations have been heated, and the unions have authorized a
strike
if contract negotiations do not complete successfully. As of
Saturday,
the unions have agreed to extend the negotiations to Thursday, July 9
at
midnight, and give three days notice before going on strike:

The bottom line for those attending the meeting is to check
bart.gov
before you leave, and don't be surprised if you wind up needing to
take
a shuttle or taxi downtown.
