IEEE 802.16's GRIDMAN Task Group

IEEE 802.16's GRIDMAN Task Group most recently developed the P802.16s Project, leading to the publication, on 13 Octover 2017, of IEEE Std 802.16s-2017: "Standard for Air Interface for Broadband Wireless Access Systems - Amendment 4: Fixed and Mobile Wireless Access in Channel Bandwidth up to 1.25 MHz"

IEEE 802.16's GRIDMAN Task Group was initiated on 15 July 2010 to develop the P802.16n Project, which was modified on 7 December 2011. It also developed the P802.16.1a Project, which was authorized on 7 December 2011. These projects addressed issues of Greater Reliability In Disrupted Metropolitan Area Networks. Both IEEE Std 802.16n and IEEE Std 802.16.1a were approved as IEEE Standards by the IEEE-SA Standards Board on 30 August 2012.
