[802.3_100GCU] IEEE 802 March 2013 Plenary Announcement

Dear Task Force Participants,

The IEEE P802.3bj Task Force will be meeting at the IEEE 802 March Plenary Session in Orlando, FL, USA.   The IEEE P802.3bj Task Force will be meeting Tuesday, March 19 through Thursday, noon, March 21.    Registration and meeting details may be found at http://802world.org/plenary/.  You are strongly encouraged to make your reservations as soon as possible.

As passed at the January Interim, our Task Force will request going to Working Group Ballot at the IEEE 802.3 Closing Plenary on Thursday March 21.  This will require a vote by the IEEE 802.3 Working Group (which is normally ruled “Technical” and requires >= 75%).  Therefore, I appreciate the support of all Task Force participants to be present, and hope all Task Force participants with 802.3 voting rights will be present.

The agenda for the meeting will be resolution comments received against D1.4, in preparation for requesting to go to working group ballot.  Presentations for the plenary meeting should focus on comments submitted against D1.4  Please note that priority will be given to comment resolution and presentations supporting comment resolutions.  Any presentation requests not supporting submitted comments against D1.4 will be subject to time availability, pending completion of comment resolution (and any respective presentations) against D1.4.

Please note if you are intending to give a presentation in support of a suggested remedy (or provide any supplemental material) for any comments, please indicate this in the “Suggested Remedy” field in your comment submission.  Please note that formal requests for presentation time must still be made to the Chair.  Presentations should be kept to 20 minutes in duration, excluding time for questions and answers.  Requests for presentation time greater than 20 minutes will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the requestor should contact the chair prior to making the request to justify the additional time.

Requests for presentation time must be made two Fridays preceding the meeting.  For the March Plenary meeting, requests for presentation time shall be made to me at jdambrosia@xxxxxxxx  and must be made by March 8, 2013.  The presenter shall e-mail a PDF, soft-copy version of the presentation to me at jdambrosia@xxxxxxxx by Tuesday of the week preceding the meeting.  For the November Plenary meeting, presentations must be submitted by March 12, 2013

As a reminder, please make sure that all requests for presentations or submissions of presentation material have no restrictive notices at the bottom of the email.  All such emails will be refused and requests / presentations will not be acknowledged.

All individuals submitting presentations should review the Procedures for Presenters Page - http://www.ieee802.org/3/bj/public/presentproc.html.

I would greatly appreciate presenters reviewing their own presentations to verify that they have followed the cited Presentation Style Guidelines.  Also, to support the web site search tool used by the IEEE P802.3 web site the 'Document Information' fields of the PDF file must be completed as follows:

Title: Title of presentation

Author: Name(s) of author(s)

Subject: IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable Task Force

As a reminder to the group, we are a contribution driven organization.   It should not be assumed by anyone that work will just get done without contributions to drive it.  Areas not moving forward will be brought to the attention of the Task Force for consideration on how to address.  .

I look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando.

Best Regards,

John D’Ambrosia

Chair, IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable Task Force
