[8023-10GEPON] IEEE-SA Patent Policy - Effective 1 May 2007 at 12:01 p.m. ET

Dear colleagues,

The e-mail below is an announcement of the new IEEE-SA Patent Policy,
which went into effect on May 1st at 12:01 p.m. Please, review it
carefully.

According to the new procedures, a Call for Patents shall be made at
every standards-development meeting, which includes Working Group, Task
Force, Task Group, Study Group, Ad Hocs, and conference calls.

At all future Task Force meetings, the following slides shall be shown
or distributed as either electronic or hard copies:
http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.pdf

For conference calls or ad hoc meetings, the URL to these slides should
be distributed together with the meeting or call announcement.

At the beginning of each meeting or conference call, all participants
shall acknowledge that they have read the patent policy. Sufficient time
shall be provided to all participants not familiar with the patent
policy to review it before the meeting can progress.

Ad hoc leaders, please note these procedures for the conference calls
you are planning.

If you have more questions, please contact me or Dave Ringle (contact
info is at the end).

Regards,
Glen Kramer
