RE: [802.3ae] M0 Line remote error indiation support for WIS




Roy,
   I did look into the GR-253 Bellcore as well as ANSI standards for M0
support. I did not find any details for including M0 byte for 10G framer and
above with backward compatiability. It seems SONET and SDH standards are
incompatible because of different defination of additional bytes for 10G
frame format. But SDH added the backward compatibility for line remote error
indication(M0).The interworking should be configured by the management
system ( It can not detect automatically).

Does this mean that this is an additional function in which standard SONET 
and standard SDH are incompatible?
