[802.3ae] Clause 49, section 126.96.36.199.3 - Definition of R_BLOCK_TYPE
Definition of the S value for R_BLOCK_TYPE is
- A block type field of 0x33 and four valid control characters.
The ratification of this requirement is: an Ethernet packet may be trashed
due to a single bit error that occurs in any of the four control bytes
preceding the packet's Start Of Packet, causing that control byte become
invalid. If my interpretation is correct then this requirement seems to be a
bit overdone. Why can't the invalid control bytes decoded to ERROR bytes,
and the following SOP and data are reserved? Please advise.
