Walter:

A few weeks ago, Corey McCormick of Citgo stated on the HSSG reflector that
they use a lot of jumpers including CX.  He reminded us not to forget short
jumpers in our 10 GbE standard.

Citgo is not the only one needs short jumpers, all computer rooms use a lot
of short jumpers to interconnect adjacent equipment.  10 GbE market will
require jumpers.

When we discussed this topic a year ago, there was definitely a group
advocating a "jumpers" type solution. However, I thought the outcome of the
discussion was, though we standardized the CX jumper solution in 1 gig,
there has been little (if any) actual customer demand for CX equipment.
Therefore, we didn't want to spend cycles on a "jumper" solution for 10 Gig.
