A Question regarding "signal_detect" in Clause 48 (D2.0)


Rich,
The "signal_detect" indication (Clause 48 p. 265) from the PMD is used for
lane signal validation. Is there a specific definition describing the way
this signal is generated or its implementation dependent? The draft requires
it to be a signal which is generated by the PMD, or it may be generated
within the PMA/PCS internally?
