[STDS-802-3-400G] Announcement - IEEE P802.3bs Interim Meeting Announcement - June 27 to 28

All,

The IEEE P802.3bs Task Force will hold an Interim meeting on Monday June 27 to Tuesday June 28, 2016.  The meeting will be held at the IEEE Operations Center, which is located at 445 Hoes Lane, Piscataway, NJ 08854.

Meeting details may be found at the following URL:   http://www.ieee802.org/3/interims/piscataway_1_0616.html.   Please note individuals need to register for the meeting by Monday June 20.  On-site registration will take time and may delay your participation in the meeting.

Please note that there is no hotel room block for this meeting, and it is up to individuals to make their own hotel reservations.  Hotels near the IEEE Operations Center may have a shuttle service, so it may not be necessary to rent a car.  Individuals should check with the hotel.  Please note that individuals will be responsible for their breakfast, breaks, and lunch.  The IEEE Operations Center does have a cafeteria, but please note that it is CASH ONLY – NO CREDIT CARDS.

The Task Force will be meeting Mon, June 27 to Tues June 28 from 8:30am to 4:30pm (EDT) each day.  The IEEE Operations Center opens at 8am and time will be needed to get your badges and get to the meeting room.

The scope of the D1.4 Task Force Review will be to address a) non-major changes to 400GbE; and b) the addition of text addressing 200GbE.  The target date for opening the Task Force Review is June 3, and the date that the Task Force Review will close is June 17, 2016, AoE.  Therefore, the scope and agenda of the meeting is to review comments submitted against D1.4 and approve generation of D1.5 for submission to IEEE 802.3 in preparation for request in July to proceed to Working Group Ballot.

For this meeting, all presentation requests and presentations must address comments against D1.4, and must be submitted by the Task Force Draft 1.4 Review deadline, June 17, AoE

Presentations should be kept to 20 minutes in duration, excluding time for questions and answers.  Requests for presentation time greater than 20 minutes will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the requestor should contact the chair prior to making the request to justify the additional time.  As Chair, I reserve the right to introduce parties to each other in the interest of consensus building, if the two (or more) parties are planning a presentation on a similar topic.

As a reminder, please make sure that all requests for presentations or submissions of presentation material have no restrictive notices at the bottom of the email.  All such emails will be refused and requests / presentations will not be acknowledged.

All individuals submitting presentations should review the Procedures for Presenters Page: http://www.ieee802.org/3/bs/public/presentproc.html.

I would greatly appreciate presenters reviewing their own presentations to verify that they have followed the cited Presentation Style Guidelines.  Also, to support the web site search tool used by the IEEE P802.3 web site the 'Document Information' fields of the PDF file must be completed as follows:

Title: Title of presentation

Author: Name(s) of author(s)

Subject: IEEE P802.3bs 200 GbE and 400GbE Task Force

As a reminder to the group, we are a contribution driven organization.   It should not be assumed by anyone that work will just get done without contributions to drive it.  Areas not moving forward will be brought to the attention of the Task Force for consideration on how to address.

I look forward to seeing everyone in June.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

John D’Ambrosia
