Re: [802.3_NGBIDI] 答复: Update on the PAR, CSD, and Objectives document

Hi Marek,

For 50GE BIDI in mobile access network with IP RAN/PTN application, my contribution in this May meeting share some information including bandwidth forecast and benefit. For you concern, I understand it is related with active Ethernet in access PHY.

I hope the potential new CFI can answer this question.

Thanks you very much.

I think we will debate the merits of adding 50G to this project when the CFI is up. I did raise concerns about throwing it into the mix and even though I voted in favor of the documentation produced by the Study Group, my concerns remain

Hi All,

Per the discussion in 802.3cp study group at Thursday, 50G BIDI is interested based on my observation.

I tentative consider a new CFI for 50GE BIDI in July meeting. If anyone is interested in participating this CFI, please don't hesitate to reach me.

Thanks everyone to support the great work this week in Study Group.

主题: [802.3_NGBIDI] Update on the PAR, CSD, and Objectives document

Hello all,

I wanted to inform the whole group on what happened after we adjourned.

It was observed that the scope of the study group was written as 10G and 25G only. Therefore, 50G is out of our scope.

If we proceeded with the documents that we prepared in Pittsburgh, they would not be accepted.

So, the solution is to remove the 50G aspects from the documents.  This leaves them in a suitable state.

I have done this editing, and uploaded them to our webpage for your inspection.  (In all, I deleted only ~30 characters!)

At the July meeting, our study group will meet again, and we shall re-ratify these things, and send them on their way.

Those individuals who are interested in 50G bidirectional optics are of course free to do their own CFI.

If this CFI is successful, then we could entertain the idea to merge that wider scope into this SG, at which point our documents could revert to their previous state.

But if it is unsuccessful, we can continue with our current scope.

Sincerely,

Frank Effenberger, Chairman 802.3cp Bidirectional 10 Gb/s and 25 Gb/s optical access PHYs study group
