[10GBASE-CX4] 802.3ak Comment Resolution Status

Hello Colleagues,

I wanted to inform you of the status on our Ballot for 802.3ak D4.0 and
let you know what our plans are for the near future.

During the recent meeting in Portsmouth, we developed resolutions for
all TR's and T's and were proceeding to resolve the E's when we came to
the conclusion that we were not going to get things done in a way that would
provide the highest assurance of completeness.

Rather than try to rush out a new draft, we decided to take a deep breath
and then continue the process until our June Meeting in Ottawa. By giving
ourselves more time to do a really complete resolution process, we are
hoping that the final outcome is a better spec and more rapid closure.

We will take the following approach over the next four weeks to complete
our comment resolution process.

1) Evaluate all comments to ensure that all under-rated comments are
elevated to their proper level. (ie: E comments that are T in nature become
T's)

2) Publish an internal task-force draft 4.01 that incorporates all of our
current
resolutions so that the task force can evaluate the output of our work in
Portsmouth more completely to ensure we don't create new comments.

3) Contact all TR holders and provide our proposed resolutions and request
that they provide feedback so that we can ensure our responses meet their
objectives.

4) Focus all Ottawa presentations on TRs and their resolutions. I will be
more
stringent on presentations this time as we can not afford to discuss closed
items.

I want to express my appreciation to the task force for their diligence and
hard work and to Chris Di Minico of MC Communications for hosting our
meeting. At this point, I believe our schedule is still within our grasp,
but
execution through July must be virtually flawless to maintain it.
