IEEE 802.3ca NG100G-EPON Study Group Task Force Work Items and Socialization

 

·         Review of Guidelines for IEEE-SA meetings.

o    Has anyone not seen these Guidelines? Everyone has seen the guidelines

o    There’s a new question to be asked regarding Task Forces – slide 4 in this deck:

o    Chair read the Call for Potentially Essential Patents – no replies.

·         RS Layer Work Plan (Duane Remein, Huawei)

o    EEE = Energy Efficient Ethernet – conscious decision should be made since SIEPON includes energy efficient operation for EPON.

o    Duane agreed to prepare straw poll(s) to gauge interest in the different rate combinations

·         Call for Contributions

o    Deadline for requests: January 8, 2016 AOE

§  Requests shall be submitted by sending an email to the chair. The presenter shall provide the following information:

·         Name of presenter

·         Title of presentation

·         Length of time requested (this should include time for questions and answers)

·         Brief description of topic

o    PDF files due by January 12, 2016 AOE

§  Naming convention (different from Study Group contributions):

·         Filename: presentername_3bp_nn_mmyy.pdf

o    presentername: last name of presenter

o   nn: number of presentation, e.g. 01

o   mmyy: month and year, e.g. 0113

o    Updated presentations should add an alphabetic revision, e.g.,"a", "b", etc. after the presentation number.

·         Open floor

o    Due to holidays and other meeting conflicts, our next consensus-building meeting will be Jan 7
