Richard,

As a side note and warning regarding the use of P2MP for providing any kind 
of "T1" services.  A large national CLEC attempted to provide "T1" services 
over VBR ATM and found it to be an economic failure.  The customers, 
believing that they had full use of the "T1" at what ever time they wanted, 
discovered that they did not have the full bandwidth, particularly at "busy 
hour" periods.  They demanded that the CLEC provision their service at CBR, 
which cost the CLEC up to 4X what a standard TDM facility would have 
cost.  They "lost their shirt" and discontinued the service.  While 802.3ah 
P2MP will be somewhat less expensive to deploy, given the current draft, 
the operational costs may not be any less than that of ATM.  Historically, 
this does not bode well for 802.3ah P2MP used to provide "T1" services or 
any other kind of "business" services.
