RE: [EFM] Environmental classes

Roy,

I guess these further classes would be within IEC 60721-3-4.

The present debate is about what to do about temperature.

Obviously, conditions vary. For some equipment, it may be impractical or expensive to meet a global superset.

You mention humidity. Like temperature, earthquake protection, weight, and many other product specifications, I hope EFM will have the good sense to stay with 802.3's traditional position of leaving the specification and measurement of such parameters to others.

Best regards,

Piers
