Thanks for your excellent minutes.


In the discussion section on Presentation #21 it says:


“PMD tolerance should say Mean DGD”


I think that this should read “PMD tolerance should say Max. DGD”.


John D’Ambrosia tells me that the way to deal with this is to make a motion requesting this change at the next meeting in Dallas, so that is what I will do.


Background for those not at the meeting - The Max DGD specification for many 10 Gbit/s NRZ interfaces is 30 ps. One would therefore expect a 100 Gbit/s NRZ signal to have a factor of ten smaller tolerance than this which agrees with the 3 ps number in duelk_01_0906.pdf.  The term “PMD tolerance” usually means Mean DGD and would be expected to be a factor of at least 3 smaller than this at about 1 ps.
