Colleagues:
I generally don't provide meeting logistics updates on this reflector,
but the number of people having problems is exceptionally large and so I
send this exceptional announcement.
The Hyatt at Embarcadero July meeting hotel is nearly full (it may be on
certain dates). Both the web registration and a reservation agent on
the phone may tell you there are no rooms available in the IEEE meeting
block. No room available at the IEEE rate or with the block does not
mean that the hotel is sold out on that date. If there are rooms
available in the meeting hotel for the nights you request, you should
get the reservation at the offered rate, contact the meeting planners
with the reservation number and request their assistance in getting the
rate adjusted to the IEEE rate (email address is on the 802 registration
site).
Finalization of overflow lodging is being arranged. If you are not on
the 802 announcement reflector, please check the meeting registration
site and its announcement pages after a while. Hopefully, the overflow
hotel will be ready for us to make an announcement later this afternoon
(US Pacific Time).
