[RE] September RESG Interim meeting

Title: September RESG Interim meeting

Colleagues:

Steve Carlson has accepted my request to chair the September Residential Ethernet Study Group meeting, and he will be accepting requests for presentation time.

For those unfamiliar with IEEE 802's process, the principal purpose of a study group is to determine if a standards development project should be initiated and if so create PAR and Five Criteria documents.  Therefore, presentations related to the scope, purpose, broad market potential, compatibility, distinct identity, technical feasibility and economic feasibility of a possible standards project will be especially welcomed.  Usually, there will also be a set of objectives developed by a study group (refinement of objectives often continuing until after approval of a standards development project).  More information on the PAR process and the Five Criteria document can be found in the LMSC P&P Clause 17 (formerly Procedure 2), and the 802.3 Operating Rules posted on the IEEE 802 web site.

You are also welcome to discuss appropriate issues on the Residential Ethernet reflector by posting to stds-802-3-re@ieee.org.  If this message was forwarded to you, you can find reflector subscription instructions at: http://www.ieee802.org/3/re_study/reflector.html.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Steve or me as appropriate.
