Re: [ECSG-802-OMNIRAN] [OmniRAN] Meeting logistics in Norfolk, VA

Hi Mike,

We have on the agenda to create a liaison report for the other 802 WGs. As OmniRAN concludes at 5pm on Thursday in Norfolk, VA, the report should be well available for presentation in the 802.11 closing plenary in Waikoloa, HI on Friday morning.

I will send you the liaison report by email on Thursday evening.

Bye
Max

Max‎,

Good luck next week.

Do you have some brief update I can give 802.11 as a report next week?

Dear colleagues,

802.1 OmniRAN TG meets in Norfolk, VA
- on Wednesday, May 14th, 2pm-5pm, and
- on Thursday, May 15th, 9am-5pm in the Greenway Room on the 4th floor of the hotel.

Further information about the meeting location and a preliminary agenda is available by
https://mentor.ieee.org/omniran/bp/Announcement_May14

As the OmniRAN TG has its initial F2F meeting in Norfolk, the chair of 802.1 made a great offer to OmniRAN to provide those OmniRAN participants membership rights in 802.1 who
- achieve attendance credit for the whole 802.1 interim meeting in Norfolk
(requires to attend and to sign in by IMAT for at least 4 half day sessions), and
- send an email to the 802.1 chair asking for the membership rights.
The membership rights would be provided starting at the begin of the July plenary session.

Thanks a lot to Glenn for the offer. Please take into account that membership rights come with duties. You should be interested in the broader range of 802.1 topics and you should plan also to participate in other 802.1 topics when applying for 802.1 membership. For getting engaged in OmniRAN TG there is no need for 802.1 membership rights. We will run the OmniRAN TG business more like in a study group; everybody appearing in the meetings can participate in the technical discussions and conclusions regardless whether there is a 802.1 sticker on the badge or not.
We need such openness anyhow to allow subject matter experts from other 802 WGs to effectively contribute and participate in the work of OmniRAN.

cu in Norfolk
Max
