RE: [802SEC] +++ SEC EMAIL BALLOT +++ Get IEEE 802(tm) program recommendation
I vote Disapprove.
I believe that the programs' original goals were admirable, but as time
has shown the original definitions have been changed by IEEE. Quite
frankly, I believe that we must hold them to there originally agreed
timescale, costs, and goals. I do appreciate the economics of it, and
the pressure that the economic downtime has lead too, but with the
general acceptance of this program has had, I would propose that we
continue the program for the remainder of the calendar year. This will
lead to a better understanding by IEEE, and 802 of the real economic
viability of the program, and see if any corporate sponsorship can be
found, which I readily agree is a daunting task.
Lastly, I would also suggest that the IEEE be more open in their thought
processes on this on and actively use us over the whole period and not
piece meal. This does not include the recent work by our own SEC
members.
