Re: [802SEC] +++ Disbanding of 802.4+++EC Email Ballot+++ENDS 18 SEPT+++tentative tally



Oops; it seems I sent a prior note to the wrong address.

I vote Disapprove because I disagree with the "whereas" statement in
the motion, which states that 802.4 "no longer has any active
standards."

The P&P says that a ballot to disband will occur "after all
standards, recommended practices and Technical Reports for which a
hibernating working group is responsible are withdrawn or transferred
to another group or groups."

The IEEE Standards Status Report says that 8802-4-1990 and
15802-4-1994 have the status of "Approved Publication of IEEE." In my
understanding, this means that they have not been withdrawn (although
I don't understand why not).
