Re: [802SEC] Non-US Plenary Session locations

Title: Message
Bob,    The charter we were given by the EC was to do a future 802-Hosted January Interim in a non-North American location, and that's what we have been working towards.  Currently we are preparing proposals for several international venues for January 2007 to present prior to our March 2005 Atlanta plenary so we can make a decision there and get it scheduled.  One of the rationales for choosing to do 802-Hosted Interims over Plenaries was that it was LESS COMPLICATED logistics and somewhat less expensive.  I firmly believe this to be true, and I think our proposals will show that.

We would have had these sooner but the logistics for San Antonio were so complicated that they prevented us from spending sufficient time on this to have some fully qualified proposals.  That will NOT be the case for March, thank goodness !!!  So you're getting exactly what you asked for.    :-)

Thanx,  Buzz

I request that we stick with plenaries. It gets too complicated with the Interims.

Buzz,

I'm finally catching up with a long backlog of email on the topic of non-US plenary session locations.  Given our international participation, 802 should hold more sessions in non-US locations.  Please work with the EC members to schedule at least one plenary session or joint 802 interim session in a non-US location as soon as practical.  Ideally the EC should have some options to choose from at the March 2005 plenary.
