[802SEC] Un-Conflicted EC membership reconsideration agenda item

All,

I received the below message from Jerry Upton which will require me to conduct a vote of the unconflicted EC to determine Tony should remain in the UC-EC. This will be added to the agenda as the first item after agenda approval.

Regards,

--Paul

Subject: Un-Conflicted EC - Cisco

Paul,
As I have stated since the creation of the un-conflicted EC, I believe that EC members affiliated with Cisco are conflicted. I have documented my past serious concerns.
This is very serious concern as Cisco has now closed on their purchase of Navini, a WiMax systems supplier. The Navini voter in the 802.20 sponsor ballot changed his vote to disapprove from approve after the acquisition closed.
Tony Jeffree who is affiliated with Cisco has also voted disapprove in the sponsor ballot which is certainly his right as an individual.
However, the un-conflicted EC was created to avoid any perception of conflict in the EC vote. Therefore to avoid any perception I request that Tony be excused form voting on the 802.20 Motions at the EC. I understand there is a process for the un-conflicted EC to vote on who is conflicted. Given the shortness of time this probably cannot occur. However, I would suggest that you ask Tony not to vote voluntarily as way to avoid any perception issues.
Sincerely,
Jerry Upton
