Dear EC members,

Per out process which states a WG Chair may submit a draft to RevCom
without EC approval '.. provided that the Sponsor Chair first notifies
the Sponsor email reflector that, in the Chair's view based on the
complete RevCom package, there is a reasonable expectation that the
submittal will be approved by the Sponsor before the RevCom meeting.'.

David Law has requested I review the status of the 802.3az project in
preparation for RevCom review. I have determined there is a
reasonable expectation the attached submittal will be approved by the
EC before the next RevCom meeting and, via this email, am notifying the EC as such.
See the details below.

Subject: RE: IEEE P802.3az submittal to RevCom

Hi Paul,

The 2nd recirculation ballot on IEEE P802.3az/D3.2 closed with the
following results:

96 affirmative votes
5 negative votes with comments
0 negative votes without comments
6 abstention votes

84% returned
5% abstention
95% affirmative

A total of 5 comments were submitted but three of them were withdrawn
prior to the comment resolution meeting. The meeting took place on
Thursday 12th August and no changes were made to the IEEE
P802.3az/D3.2 draft. The two remaining comments however are unresolved
and as they are associated with a negative vote require recirculation.

The 3rd recirculation ballot on IEEE P802.3az opened on Friday 13th
August and will close on Sunday 29th August. Based on the email
exchange below I would like to proceed to submit IEEE P802.3az to
RevCom in order to meet the 20th August submittal deadline. Once the
recirculation is complete I will perform an EC email ballot to confirm
that the submittal package remain on the September RevCom agenda.

The process outlined in Clause 14 states I may submit to RevCom
without EC approval '.. provided that the Sponsor Chair first notifies
the Sponsor email reflector that, in the Chair's view based on the
complete RevCom package, there is a reasonable expectation that the
submittal will be approved by the Sponsor before the RevCom meeting.'.
I have therefore attached the complete RevCom package I propose to submit.

Since the scope of the current 3rd recirculation is limited to two
unresolved comments I hope that you agree with me that when the 3rd
recirculation ballot closes and I perform the EC email ballot the
submittal will be approved by the EC.

Best regards,
  David
